Hi Team, I would love to take part in the trial.
I can confirm I have a static IP address and ipv6 capable router.

Re: Plusnet IPv6 High Touch Trial Launch

@dave do we have any rough time frame for the trial and what happens if we were to upgrade to plus net full fibre mid way through?

Re: Plusnet IPv6 High Touch Trial Launch

Hi Dave

I'm happy to go on the trial.

I have a static IP

I have multiple different routers to test with that support IPv6 including Unifi and Fortigate

I have many Windows11 and Linux VM's to be able to handle any troubleshooting.

Thanks

Glen

Re: Plusnet IPv6 High Touch Trial Launch

Hi Dave,

I would like to assist you with the IPV6 trial, either by (a) are you able to switch me to a static address or trial on my dynamic (using a reservation). I'm on traditional ADSL (500 yards from the exchange but on an EO LINE! So cannot get fibre even thou it's available lol).

I mention this all to stir your technical interest.

Good luck with the trials. Let me know if I can help in anyway.

In principle, there should be no issue - the static IP address is connected to the account, not the service carrier.  However there have been some cases of the static IP address becoming detached during such a change: contrary to the advice from some CSAs this can be reinstated.

Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

Re: Plusnet IPv6 High Touch Trial Launch

@AStokes   You will not be eligible for the trial as you don't have a static WAN IP address, they are no longer being issued by Plusnet since around the end of last year. The trial does not apply to users on Dynamic addresses.

Thank you for the update, can I put my name forward if you need any trials done for the low end users.

Re: Plusnet IPv6 High Touch Trial Launch

@jrhopkins00 should be no issue if you upgrade to full fibre (or any other change of speed or access technology) as the IPv6 prefix is hardcoded to your account in our RADIUS platform and RADIUS doesn't really care if you're on FTTP, FTTC or ADSL so it should just carry over.

In terms of timelines, we're getting near the number I wanted to get on the trial (thanks everyone for the quick replies) so will probably close the application list shortly.

We've got a change planned for Tuesday next week to bring our second site online, assuming that goes successfully then I need another change to add everyone's IPv6 addresses into RADIUS which I'll probably do Thursday evening next week. I expect you'll need to disconnect/reconnect after that to pick up IPv6.

@AStokes you're in luck as you do have a static IP.
