Broadband contract ended on July 2023. However, the July 2023 bill is incorrect

Hi

I ended a broadband contract recently. My 18 month broadband contract ended July 2023 (Feb 2022 to end of July 2023
However, the July 2023 bill is wrong:

July £38.23
June £23.69
May £23.69
April £23.69

The July bill would be £23.69. The July bill require a refund of £14.54 .

I spoke (by phone) to staff in July and they confirmed the July bill is wrong. I have still not heard about the incorrect July bill. Would someone check the July bill for a refund?

Many thanks 🙂

Re: Broadband contract ended on July 2023. However, the July 2023 bill is incorrect

Did you just reach the end of the contract period, or did you close the account?

You pay for broadband in advance - so the July bill relates to the period after your contract ended, and is charged at the out-of-contract price.

If you did close the account then you should get a refund eventually. If not then your connection will continue to be charged at the out-of-contract price until you do close it or opt for a new contract period at a discounted price.

The end of contact 18 month end on 31 July 2023. Plusnet sent a email on 12 July:

"The cancellation will take place on 31st June 2023."

"There are no cancellation charges"

OK, so you have cancelled the broadband. Plusnet's billing system will take a while to catch up and you should get a refund in due course - using the existing Direct Debit. If you cancel the DD they will issue a cheque but it can take a couple of months longer (from experience).

"The cancellation will take place on 31st June 2023."

Are Plusnet inventing new days of the month now?  😀

Re: Broadband contract ended on July 2023. However, the July 2023 bill is incorrect

My mistake, I didn't copy a email and wrongly written. Here is the Plus.net email from 12 July 2023 below:

The cancellation will take place on 31st July 2023.

Cancellation charges

There are no cancellation charges.
