Broadband suspension 2 days after failed DD of nominal amount

Loki's Agents of SHIELD makes reference to virtual fascist dictatorship world.

Imagine if you have paid a company for over 5 years (£2000 +) yet suffered poor service, incompetence, numerous errors.

But one day, just two days a single direct debit failure of just £20, your broadband isn't working because it's been intentional disabled by the supplier.

Is this the same policy that a fascist dictatorship would implement? To destroy someone's day because you've lost £0.00001 in profits?

Any normal thinking company would 'retry payment'.

Eventually managed to tether to log in ... they happily accepted a partial payment of £0.01 to re-enable the service. However it still took 24 hours to reconnect ...

(BT own Plusnet ... always do your research before falling for scams).

Hey @Ringwood,

I've tried calling you this morning to discuss this further, but I'm afraid the call ended before we could discuss this in depth. You'd mentioned that you would like a callback tomorrow morning, but I wasn't able to establish a timeframe for this - did you have any particular time in mind? I'm not personally in the office, but I can ask a colleague to try giving you a call if that's what you'd like Smiley

Re: Broadband suspension 2 days after failed DD of nominal amount

Wow, just look at this. Using other peoples problems for your own SEO content generation.

Anyone in the world can read that you PLUSNET (BT Owned) disable peoples internet within 48 hours if a single nominal payment of £20.00 doesn't go through.

Retry payment too complicated for your devs? Or you like to cause pain[Removed]?

How does one get online to pay when cut off?

SICK isn't the word.  £10.00 compensation!? £10!!!

What do you want to talk about? Why do you want to call us? WHY? Seriously, why?  What other information do you want.

Why do you accept a partial payment of £0.01 to restore the service (not immediately, but after 24 hours!).

3 people working from home earning £1000 per day.  £3,000 loss of earnings .... all because BT lost £0.000000001

@Ringwood Insulting posts such as yours usually get removed - rightly - and I intend to report this one. If you are earning £1000/day (really??) you should have enough in petty cash to pay instantly.

The payment SHOULD have gone through. Banking error.

Sounds like you need to upskill:

Wow!  I wouldn't use any remote DevOps staff that were dependent on a budget domestic ISP connection!

At the very very least you need a 4G/5G failover - they are easy to set up, and much cheaper than losing earnings!
