Somehow I signed up for Plus Net Protect (Norton antivirus) but have never used it. Or did they just add it one without asking me? How do I cancel it? There does not seem to be any online way to delete this add on. Do I have to ring them?
I tried their chat service, which used to be very useful, but now seem to be a bot that cannot answer any reasonable question.

Welcome to the forums @Solar
If you don't want to use Plusnet Protect anymore, you can remove it from your account by going to the Add-Ons section of your account. To remove the software you'll need to uninstall it from all your devices. You will also need to cancel your contract with Norton, more information can be found on the NortonLifeLock Cancellation and Refund Policy (opens new tab or window).
You can get it back again at any time by going to the Add-Ons section and clicking the Add button next to Plusnet Protect.

Many thanks. Several times I'd looked everywhere for the tab to do this and failed, so ended up paying for this unused service for 3 years.
Thanks to you have found the tab.

@Solar I don't know what Broadband account you have but I always believed that Plusnet Protect was a free add-on. It certainly is on my Fibre Extra account. I have never used it.

Thanks for confirming that Solar
Having just re-read your first post again, but I wouldn't hold much hope that anything will happen, but if Plusnet can see you never used it maybe, just maybe, they could offer something to make up for the 3 years that you paid for a service you never used. Granted they or others could say it's your fault for not spotting it sooner, but you never know...
I now also wonder how many other customers out there in Plusnet land are also paying for this? And like yourself couldn't easily find a way to remove this product? - Not everyone out there knows how all this internet stuff works, I know I'm not. Could or should a system be put in place that automatically cancels subscriptions like these after an X amount of time if the ISPs system knows it's not being or has ever been used?
Anyway, at least you've sorted it out 👍
