Contract renewal time and tel line

My unlimited fibre and tel line is up for renewal. My offers include the same for 24 months but I am aware that there are plans to cease tel lines.

My renewal offer doesnt say anything about the tel line ceasing. Does that mean I'm good to keep it for another 24 months?

If you renew and don't make changes then you should keep your landline.

Yes and No

 

You might want to check that the offer includes the landline but you can keep it for now.

 

However, at some point, PSTN will be withdrawn (assuming PN don't jump the gun first) which may well happen before the end of 2025. Then your landline goes.

I thought that PSTN withdrawl had been delayed until 2027?

In the event that Plusnet do decide to stop providing the service before then, and, (assuming that they renew now for 24 months), @bikeman is still in contract, will that void the contract and allow them to leave Plusnet, (if they wanted to), without having to pay Early Termination Charges?

Openreach’s approach to this means they’ll still be terminating existing WLR contracts for ISPs at the end of December 2025 and expect the migration to continue at pace, which is in line with the previous plan. But after this date, the operator will introduce new terms and a three-month termination notice period to continue services where needed and enable some flexibility to support future processes.
