How to respond to help assistant question

Hi
I contacted support by phone. They opened a question for which I received an email with a link to respond. I don't seem to be able to respond to or update the question in any way. I have not encountered this before.
Does this mean ticket is closed or am I missing something?
I'd like to add info to the specific ticket for continuity reasons.
How do I do that?

It turns out the question was closed. I called support and they reopened it for me.
It would be good if the ticket status was displayed on the question details page.
