I’ve been billed for the next month

My contract ends today and I’ve already switched to another provider, which PN has acknowledged.

Yesterday I received a (large!) bill for my phone and broadband service until March 24th, ie well well after PN acknowledge that my service switches over (29 Feb).

I was expecting a final bill for the last few days of Feb, not this. Does this mean I have to pay the direct debit and then hope PN give most of it back again?!?

Your service may well be scheduled to switch on the 29th but that could possibly be delayed due to problems or Openreach availability. So Plusnet will continue to raise bills as normal ( i.e a month in advance ) until the service actually transfers. At that point they will stop billing and ( within 21 days ) raise a final invoice. In your case, assuming the transfer goes to schedule, that final invloice will be a credit for the period 29th Feb to 24th March that you will have paid in advance.

You should keep the direct debit in place as any refund will be directly back to that account. If you cancel the DD it will delay any refund as it will require a cheque to be sent.

That’s what I figured / hoped, so fingers crossed. Many thanks for your reply!
