I was paying £14.57 a month up to December. Yesterday I got an email saying
We want to say a big thank you for being a Plusnet customer. We love having you with us and want to make sure you're getting the best value from your Plusnet services. |
We're just getting in touch to remind you that you're not currently in a minimum term contract for your broadband (Unlimited Broadband). This means you're currently paying the out of contract price of £19.89 per month. Annual price changes apply.
I calculate that to be a 31% increase in price,. In March 2023 my bill rose from £12.74 a month to £14,57, a 13% increase. The email wording suggests that the 31% rise takes effect from January 2024, rather than March. Is that right? Also, if the 31% rise is correct (sure it shouldn't be 13%, as it was last year?), why such a huge price rise?

@Zasps it sounds like you were in a minimum term contract until recently and receiving a discount. If that's the case and you were receiving a discount, that will have come to an end and the price reverted to the non-discounted level.
Could that be the case ?
Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

@Zasps It isn't an annual price increase it is because you are no longer in a discounted contract. You have been with Plusnet for a long time you must have re-contracted previously. You need to negotiate a new discounted contract, call customer options on 0800 013 2632.
The annual price increase will still happen in March as usual.
