Out-of-contract charges when still in last period of contract

My current 18 month broadband contract is due to end on 24/04/2025. I have just received my last bill, dated 24/03/2025 to cover until 23rd April, and I am being charged as though my contract has already ended - £58.71 instead of £28.05.

Just spoke to agent to advise that it appears that the usual discounts haven't been applied but they just advised me to wait until the contract ends and things will 'fix themselves'. Unclear if I can just sit back and wait for things to fix themselves or if I'm going to have to chase again. Does this make sense? Surely the discounts should apply until the contract ends?

That doesn't sound very likely to me! Plusnet's system obviously believes the amount it has charged is correct, and I can't imagine anything that would correct that without intervention.

@Jps1310

Bills at the end of a contract period can be off but they do usually sort themselves out the following month. However a month in advance does seem odd.

As an aside, now you're coming to the last month of the contract you need to decided what you're doing next. Stay with PN or move. The last thing you want is to go onto "out of contract" prices.

Exactly my thoughts! Basically sounds like I'll have to chase this up when the contract finishes.

I've already gave my notice into plusnet and will be moving to a new supplier timed for when the contract finishes.

The point I made yesterday is that obviously that when I have requested to leave has done something to remove the long standing discounts in the 18th month of the contract but the agent just wouldn't have it

Out of interest, why have you given PN notice, @Jps1310 ? You should not do this - you should leave all communication, when switching, between the losing and gaining providers. I wonder if you giving notice has messed things up?

Sorry, not myself directly. I have through the new supplier and they have initiated the process.
