Question abount Contract Email - Broadband and phone renewal

Hi,

 

On Saturday, I renewed my 91 year old Mothers Plusnet Broadband /phone chosing an 18th Month Contract with a landline - no extras, I believe it came out as 23.50 a month fort the 10meg broadband and line rental.

 

She received an email confirming  - however, this stated 

 

"

our new package will be active on: 17th September 2024.
 

Your new package

 
Broadband Unlimited (Contracted) £15.72
Line rental Monthly £28.63
Call plan Plusnet Line Only £0.00
Call features Voicemail, Caller Display £0.00
Contract You're in month 18 of your 18 month contract
 
 
Your new monthly subscription will be £44.35

 

My question would be - is that correct (ie - just one of those Plusnet Things where you get charged /refunded/charged again etc - or is that a mistake? I don't want my mother to be paying 44 quid for a basic broadband package?  I thought by renewing early they would stop emailing about the package expiring and stressing her out?

Any help / insight appreciated.
