My 18 month contact ends July 22nd 2022
Cost per month £29.38
However I am being offered a better deal at £23.99
If I opt for this new contact will it become effective on the next payment date (May 22nd) or not until the existing contact ends

From my experience any new contract will not await the end of your existing one. It will either start on your next billing date or. as sometimes seems to happen, earlier than that (even the day after you sign up!). In the past, I have had both scenarios and I cannot see what affects it. Maybe Plusnet can clarify that.
