Renewal contract

My existing 18 month broadband contract ended on 8 Mar 2024. I missed the renewal timing and was automatically charged for one month of broadband at a higher rate than my existing contract. The billing period is from 9 Mar 2024 to 8 Apr 2024.

Today I reset a new contract with a 12 month term, but it shows the start of the contract period as 3 Apr 2024. I basically assumed that the new 12 month contract would start after the end of the existing billing period. Perhaps the charges for the 7 days that overlap the most recent billing period and the start of the new contract will be refunded?
