Renewals for long time loyal customers

I've been offered a deal to renew my full fibre at 29.99 a month. I see new customers are offered the same for 25.99. Why do plusnet treat long time loyal customers like this?

You could always do what I do at renewal time - for broadband/insurance/whatever - and give them a call, you would probably be offered a better deal.

Of course, but it needs to be addressed across the board and put on show because many people just accept it and it's wrong.

Wonder if a mod or someone else is going to join in with reasons to support this stance by Plusnet.

It is not a 'stance by Plusnet' - you will find it with, as I have said, insurance companies/mobile, in fact any company providing a subscription service.

I didn't say so, but I am not going to comment further.

Me neither. I'm happy just to leave it here for others to see. It might help towards putting and end to this kind of profiteering.

Just to add a final note. As a loyal customer, if I renew at their offer it costs me £4 a month more than a newbie. That works out at £96 a year more for being loyal. That's gratitude eh?

@CoolerKing

Let me see ... I make £4 x 12 (months in a year) = £48    Smiley

Perhaps you meant £96 over a 24 month contract?

Yeah. £96 for the contract. I'd edit, but I don't want to steal your thunder.

Just to add here. Apart from IDnet who offered free we space in the old dial up days, Plusnet have been a great company to be with for all these years. No complaints on the product in general.

Unfortunately you can't edit after 20 minutes - gotcha! Smiley

Oh no! How can I live with the shame of not justifying my maths? 😄

@CoolerKing

I'm afraid the maths are simple. PN (like all other ISP's I supect) have a default price for any given product which, if all goes well, allows them to make a profit.

They build into this a marketing budget which allows lower prices to lure new customers in.

If everyone got the lower price they probably wouldn't make a profit.

Re: Renewals for long time loyal customers

As a long standing customer, mine doubled when the contract ended. We deserve better I think.
