@stephenholder

Sounds like you were / are paying the out of contract price.

I'm aware when my contract is up. Same each time. This post is about customer loyalty that's thrown back in our faces.

Re: Renewals for long time loyal customers

Maybe it's different (probably is) for different products. I had just ADSL from PN (over a BT line) and that was out of the initial contract years ago, so no "line rental" factor. The price went up sometimes and actually down sometimes, but certainly never had any massive increases.

I think for the last few months it had dropped from about £20 to under £18 a month which actually wasn't bad for the 20mbps I got. Might have had a very small referral discount in those numbers.

@bmc yes, I was out of contract. I was interested in your earlier comment regarding PlusNet having a price point that enables them to turn a profit. Absolutely fair comment, but were you referring to the £29.99 that the OP was complaining about, or the £59.99 that PlusNet charged me for lapsing out of contract?

@stephenholder

Pure speculation but I would imagine that "out of contract" prices are a bonus to PN. Very few people will be on them.

Standard prices will be their baseline.
