Renewed for another 18 months but overbilled for first bill?

Hi,

I renewed my broadband contract one month before the end of my contract, and received the email confirming I would pay £26.99 for 18 months from 3rd April and that after this it would be the standard price of £54.39. All fine.

However my latest bill is now saying that £54.39 will be taken from my bank account on 2nd May and when I log in to my account, I get the message that:

"An error has occurred

You can't change your products for the moment, you already have a product change in progress."

Does anyone know what's going on? There seems to be a lot of similar posts with people being billed the wrong amount. How do I resolve this? It's probably too late now and the money will be debited on Tuesday anyway but I'd still like the credit for the over charging.

Thanks,
Michael

I'm getting the exact same problem after renewing my contract, not had a reply on this since posting a few days ago.

I had the same experience. It seems the PN accounts system generates bills well in advance and takes a while to catch up with renewals. If you pay the full amount the overcharge will be credited against your next bill. The long-suffering PN staff may offer an immediate adjustment of the bill if you are in difficulties, give them a ring.
