Re: Too expensive

Sounds like you are paying the out of contract price. Have you tried calling Customer Options Team 0800 013 2632 and seeing what price they can quote if your re-contract ?

Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

@stathe

If by ‘my type of customer’ you mean that you are on benefits that qualify you for a social tariff then if you ring the Customer Options Team on 0800 013 2632 they will arrange to transfer you to the BT social tariff without you incurring Plusnet cancellation charges.

Re: Too expensive

@stathe

 You are probably paying over the odds as you have not renewed your contract and are paying the monthly out of contract rate. Ring the Customer Options Team as previously advised.

Re: Too expensive

fwiw, you really need to speak to Customer Options Team on 0800 013 2632.  Tip: Choose 'leaving' option to get through to the right team.

You have not really provided much information about your current package in your posts.

You quoted you paid £40pm last month, and thought you had renewed your contract too.

What package are you on?

Are you paying for a telephone call plan?

If you have 'Anytime calls plan', it probably adds at least £10 a month to the monthly bill.  (Tip: a mobile phone contract would be cheaper for use for outgoing calls, if you can get good reception)

If you renewed your contract for another 18 or 24 months before 1st April, you will have been informed the price will rise every 31st March linked to CPI inflation+3.9%.  Unfortunately, due to high rate of inflation, this amounted to a whopping 14.4% rise applied from April, which was well publicised and affected most ISPs.

Imho, it is bad practise to use free email provided by ISP.  As you have discovered, it very much prevents a customer from changing ISP if they wish to keep the free email.  My advice is to sign up for  free Google Mail, and start notifying your contacts and organisations of change of email address.   This could take you several months to complete, so it unfortunately means you won't be able to change supplier in immediate future.

Go to website:     mail.google.com

Moving from Plusnet to BT or EE is currently free of any early contract termination charges, but you will lose your plusnet email.

fwiw, have you logged into your plusnet account and checked 'Offers & Upgrades' tab in the dashboard?

Best advice for now is speak to Customer Options Team on 0800 013 2632 imho.  Choose 'leaving' options.

The last time that I rang the dedicated  Customer Options Team number advised to you it was answered in about 10 seconds.
