Transfer from John Lewis Broadband

Have just started my new Plusnet account only to find out that because I've done so, I can no longer access my old @waitrose.com mailbox. A pain as we'd lost our internet connection since last Friday (23rd) so cannot see any mails which have arrived since. It's only Plusnet in a different name so there must be something you can do to fix this!?!

Re: Transfer from John Lewis Broadband

@ckuepers1  Welcome to the Plusnet Community forums.

Unforfortunately once your service transfers your JL email account is closed down, see  https://www.plus.net/john-lewis/faqs/

Plusnet no longer provide an email service with new contracts. I would expect that any emails addressed to your old Waitrose email address since the closure would have been bounced back to the sender as undeliverable.

If you need advice in setting up an alternative email service then just ask.

Re: Transfer from John Lewis Broadband

There lies the problem - the account was moved whilst our broadband connection was down. So we do not know if messages did come in before the transfer. Also the notice on John Lewis Broadband implies that their email addresses would keep working until the service closes on 30 June!?!

Re: Transfer from John Lewis Broadband

Sorry but the first paragraph refers to existing JL customers who will lose their emails as soon as they transfer. The later one to which you are referring concerns ex customers who have in the past been allowed to keep their email accounts open despite having moved to a different ISP.

If a Plusnet staffer comes along maybe they can advise on whether anything can be recovered.
