Upgrade offer

apparently, this is my current upgrade offer ....

Misleading offer.PNG

except the new estimated speed is what we already get, not the 36mb we are (apparently) getting. If so it's currently faster than BTW thinks ...

Re: Upgrade offer

@JohnofYork Not sure what point you are trying to make, "Fibre"  ( a very bad name for it as it is just fibre to the cabinet) is the same technology as your current product and if that is your existing speed you'll get the same with "Fibre"

The estimated 36Mb for unlimited fibre would appear to be completely wrong.☹️

So it's £3 a month less for "Fibre" but it is the Openreach SOGEA product which has no phone service provided, if you don't use a landline phone that's OK but some people do still want a landline phone and keep the number they have had for many years.

This  means setting up a VOIP service and porting your phone number as Plusnet do not provide any digital phone service.

There are many threads on the forum about this, it can be done but there are cases where things go wrong and it gets messy.😁

Re: Upgrade offer

As a matter of interest, what is your current minimum speed guarantee? If it is more than you actually get then that would count as a fault.

Re: Upgrade offer

It's 9-10mb. It was higher about 1 year ago but was re-adjusted downwards after some software upgrade at Plusnet's end.

it's down to the byzantine route our copper takes from the cabinet to our house. the cab is about 750m as the crow files, but over 1.5km as the cable crawls. no ISP has ever offered a better 'guaranteed minimum'.
