I’m looking to upgrade to a new and faster deal, but my bill is due in 8 days (23rd) by direct debit. If I order today(15th) - when will I start to pay for the upgrade? I’m just worried about paying two lumps of money within a couple of weeks.
I asked on the chat but I didn’t quite get what the adviser meant!
Thanks for any help anyone can give.

All depends on the upgrade.
Some happen on the billing date, others happen when they happen (for example upgrade to FTTP).
Generally bills will be prorate in the billing period - leading to a (sometimes) complex set of adjustment charges.

@KB_30 You will be billed for the upgraded service on your next monthly bill after it goes live, but that invoice may be a little confusing as it will have (possibly) two pro-rota charges - one for the old rate whilst you are on the lower package, and one for the period covered by that invoice at the new rate.
@Townman beat me to it, with a better explanation.
