beware 100 operator number (118500 ) not dementia friendly

my elderly mother lives with vascular dementia her bills have in recent months be increasing -my initial thought was that she was calling family overseas more often . however i have just learned that it was due to 118500 - her most recent monthly bill had £39.39 in excess charges to this number. my mother doesn't have the capacity to dial this number or even know what it for. she does on occasion try to use her cordless phone as a remote control for her TV.
I have previously asked that premium numbers be blocked and only in the last week has this been supposedly been done even though i asked for it over a year ago . if - by some remote chance -mum did try to call it would have been the old 100 operator number she would have called and she would have no understanding of the call charges relating to 118 numbers . Plusnet have always been fully aware of mums dementia diagnosis, why then do the make things so difficult for sufferers and their carers or is it just that it is easy to take advantage of those who lack capacity to manage their own financial affairs - contract will be up shortly it will not be renewed

In another browser tab, login into the Plusnet user portal BEFORE clicking the fault & ticket links
Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

Don't suppose she has a DECT phone does she? Ours allow a number (or group of numbers) to be barred from the handset. Might be worth looking at.
