mail only account

Hi,

I was advised on the online chat that i could keep a mail only account if i cancelled my broadband. So i went ahead and cancelled and was told on the phone that i can't have a mail only account?

Who is correct? It will be really inconvenient not to be able to keep the mail only account.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks

Richard.

Re: mail only account

@wy Mail-only accounts were discontinued June last year -  one would think staff should be well aware of this by now, but obviously not.

Re: mail only account

What @jab1 said! Under no circumstances are we to keep mail only accounts! I am sorry the agent confused you!

Re: mail only account

Thanks for the reply John

Yes pretty poor. Was told this just 2 days ago.

richard: if i cancel can i keep my plusnet email?
Morgan:

If you decide to leave us, you should be able to keep your PlusNet email. A mail only account costs £1.06 per month and you would need to request this before the migration takes place. Once your new providers orders are all in place you can call Customer Options Team on 0800 013 2632 (Selecting option 1 then option 2) to request this.

richard: ok thank you

Re: mail only account

The £1.06 charge was many moons ago as well. That is rather odd!

@willcutforth

I think the agent totally mislead @wy and feedback and training should be given.

Re: mail only account

Richard, no idea which rock that agent has been hiding under - mail-only accounts (when available) had been free for a long time, so said individual needs fully retraining.

Re: mail only account

@wy

Not trying to defend what’s happened but if this only happened a couple of days you should be in time to cancel the move, sort out your emails then start again. Be aware that once you move all emails stored on Plusnet’s server are likely to be immediately deleted with no way to recover them.

Re: mail only account

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

i do have a bit of time as the move is on the 6th December.

But i've been with plusnet for years. So who knows who has my plus net email. I was thinking it would take a year or so to catch everyone.

Re: mail only account

@wy

Unless you have a good reason for changing ISP's you might need to stick with PN for another contract while you sort your e-mail out.
