system error

I recently renewed my broadband contract for £24.99 a month.  All was well for a few months but the June bill is for £51.99.  When I rang up to query this I was told that it was a system error and, while too late to change the direct debit going out, I would receive a credit to my bill in future months.  Hopefully this will happen and it will be the end of it.  However, as a pensioner, I cannot afford for this to happen again next month and, if it does, I am wondering if I can just cancel the direct debit and bring the contract to an end as Plusnet would have twice broken the contract with me by more than doubling the agreed monthly payment.

Re: system error

@anthonyw I completely get where you are coming from but it wouldn't be grounds for leaving free of charge I am afraid as we can technically refund it and rectify it that way. It should be resolved now for you though. Fingers crossed.
