Fair enough, @Baldrick1 . Would be very useful to see the full narrative at the foot of that page, it would probably give more clarity.

Just about to ask for that...

Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

Re: 2 month Openreach wait

Thanks again for help on this one, I will contact Plusnet. Open reach have confirmed their appointment at the property on 28th May.

Full narrative attached.

@Keir20

This states there is "partial direct in ground" which indicates digging is probably required. If you are present when the survey is done you can check where the CSP and ONT will go to ensure you're happy with the location.

It you've not already phoned I would try the PlusNet Customer Options Team on 0800 013 2632 to see what's possible to get you online.

Re: 2 month Openreach wait

Just want to say a big thanks to everyone for the input! I managed to sort the FTTC with Plusnet and then I'll upgrade in a few days to FTTP. They will need to sort a new time out with Openreach but at least Im online.

Really appreciate everyone's input.

@Baldrick1 If the OP's installation is currently U/G, I don't see the need for further ducting - I understand FTTP uses the current installation.

Obviously, there is some work needed somewhere (KCI2 Assure), but we don't know what.

I might remind you I started out as a simple 1-stage with a duct... and look how that turned out !

Re: 2 month Openreach wait

@Keir20 with a KCI2 Assure install, Openreach are 'supposed' to undertake a survey within a week of order placement. Only after the survey has established what works are required, will they give a committed install date.

@Keir20

As you've probably discovered setting up a FTTC connection will have cancelled the FTTP order.

When you upgrade the process will restart but at least this time you'll have internet connectivity to keep you going.

I would add that for rural locations (eg mine) they quite reasonably want to combine site visits so quoted up to 15 working days, but came in 10.

A bypass some neighbours have had is let the installer turn up and get the CSP/ONT fitted and the installer then direct books the dig.  I guess they will need a second installer to finish the CSP unless the dig side can finish it ?

Re: 2 month Openreach wait

Hi,

Yes they undertook a survey within a week of placing the order. That's when the commited date was set at 28th May.

I looked yesterday and saw I placed the order on 26th March so, it would end up being 2 months from order date if I had waited.

Interesting alternative approach suggesting OR are capable of planning and commumication.

I never got a committed date until a complaint resulted in "Install next day" commanded from (far) above.
