The initial date you are given is a 'best estimate' under ideal conditions, the second date is after you confirm the order and Plusnet have checked engineer availability. I doubt Openreach will work any faster.

You do have 14 days from when you place the order to cancel.
However, you may not find another ISP that uses Openreach that can connect you any quicker. You may want to look for any Altnets in your area, or 4G/5G if you want a quick connection.

Just so that you know, Plusnet like ALL suppliers rely on Openreach to make the connections. Openreach does their own thing and with holidays etc plus usual breakdown service they probably have no techies available to hook you up. They may even postpone your appointment I'm afraid. All Pnet can do is to repeat their request for you their customer. And no we mere customers cannot contact Openreach ourselves. Sorry but that's the way it is.

That isn't strictly true - not ALL suppliers use the Openreach network.
I'm enjoying a 600Mbps symmetric FTTP connection, while any ISP using Openreach could only supply me with sub-USO ADSL.

@corringham That assumes the OP has alternative suppliers available - I haven't, at least until (claimed) February next year, and they don't wholesale their connections, so I would be stuck with them - not something I am happy about, so I'm sticking with my current 40/10 FTTC until either (a) Openreach deploy FTTP in the area, or (b) an altnet that wholesales jump in.

@jab1, I'm not saying the OP does have altnets available - I'm just correcting the statement that ALL broadband suppliers are dependent upon Openreach.
