Activation date accuracy

Hi, just wondering if anyone can shed any light on how accurate the activation date is as I was told it’ll be by midnight and due to working from home I’m hoping this is the case however it looks like a few people on here have had this delayed? I have a temporary set up to get me through until today however I was relying on the date given being accurate!

Many thanks all

Re: Activation date accuracy

@AP1995 If the email/text says that. it should happen. If not, come back and say so - there are a couple of things that can make it not appear to happen, but they are correctable.

@AP1995   Welcome to the Community Forum.

There is no simple answer to this you will have been given the date offered by Openreach. There are many factors that can affect this such as staff absenteeism, the technician finding faulty lines/equipoment and other jobs running over the alloted time.

Hopefully, like most orders, yours will be activated as promised.

Re: Activation date accuracy

@Baldrick1 If the OP has been given that information, does it not mean all BT/OR work is completed, and they are just waiting for the PN systems to fall into line?

@jab1
The devil is in the detail. If the message is along the lines that the service will be activated by midnight next Tuesday then I assume not.

Re: Activation date accuracy

Technically, "midnight" is never "tonight", it is always "this morning"!

Out of such comes confusion in some of the service start communications, irrespective of the possibility of BTOR failure to resource / attend.

I have just overseen the commissioning of a new referral.  Their communications referred to the 8th & 9th as the "go live" date.  IIRC it was "up to midnight on 9th Nov".  It all went live with minimal interruption around 10am on the 8th.

Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.
