Activation - the last hurdle

Finally got my fibre installed today at the third attempt. The first time was a no show, thought it's possible the engineer, who was booked for the morning, tried to come back in the evening after I'd had to go out.

The second, a week later, he fitted an ONT, but needed a cherry picker because the pole is leaning and can't take the weight on top. This wasn't available until today, so another engineer arrived to finish the job. He then spent a lot of time trying to get it working but although everything was fine at the OR end, PN have yet to activate the service. Apparently other providers activate before installing so the engineer can make sure everything works as desired before leaving and have a satisfied customer.

So now I'm staring at an orange light and using a mobile dongle to connect, but I've got no physical or virtual LAN while that's connected as my computer can't see the dongle if I plug in the Ethernet, so I can have WAN or LAN but not both at the same time.

I wonder how long it will take to get activated (and will the pole have fallen down by then)?

Re: Activation - the last hurdle

Wrong, there's one more hurdle! I am now connected, but with the wrong IP address, so I still can't run my incoming mail server or personal web server.
