Do i have to drill the wall?

hi everyone,

Recently I rented a flat and it was using BT broadband for their internet. But i found out that plusnet have a better offer so i decided to change the broadband company. However, im not sure if there is a BT socket in the flat. Does anyone know if you used BT broadband, is there a BT socket already or not?

If the previous tenants had broadband, there must be a master socket - you can't have internet without a phoneline,

If the flat has BT broadband, there will be an Openreach master socket. That would remain in situ whether the ISP is Zen, Post Office, Plusnet or whoever, apart from Virgin.

A complex system that does not work is invariably found to have evolved from a simpler system that worked just fine

Will the engineer come?

Hi everyone,
If i want to purchase the fibre broadband, is the company only sending me a mail with the router in it or they will send an engineer to my flat? If yes, what is the engineer going to do?

IF you decide to get FTTC (thought you'd already made the decision?) you should not need an engineer visit unless you have no BT master socket. The Hub will be delivered by Royal Mail - it is just plug-and-play.
