FTTC to FTTP upgrade today - left with no internet

Really appreciate everyone's help and suggestions.  Engineer came this afternoon and fixed it: it appears the issue was with the activation, not the installation -  not sure what exactly, but he rang Plusnet whilst he was here and something hadn't been set up properly (on the other side of the world, he said....), so they fixed it and problem solved.  Anyway all's good, and I also feel educated from everyone's contributions - every day's a school day. Thanks again!

Was he suggesting some part of PlusNet were on the other side of the world?

I suppose Sheffield and Leeds could be considered that if he was from Lancashire😁
