Can broadband be set up prior to our move with a future activation date? Also appreciating that we would not want a router, post etc. sent to the new address until our completion date.

We do not complete on our new house for another month but trying to understand how soon I can set up a new plusnet broadband line at our new address, without disrupting the current homeowners line. If possible, we are trying to minimise the time without internet once we move in to our new home.
It usually takes around two weeks to arrange a takeover of an existing line. If the existing service is FTTP (Full fibre) then that can be reduced to 2-3 days.
However, the main thing is to try and arrange things with the existing occupiers to ensure that they don't cease the line. If that happens then no other ISP can place an order until the cease completes.
Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

What type of connection is in the new home - FTTC or FTTP?
FTTC would require an engineer visit (to the cabinet) while FTTP could be done remotely and therefore quicker.
As stated by @MisterW you must talk to the existing owners to see what their plans / timings are with regard to internet. If they "cease" the line then there is a mandatory 10 day "cooling off" period where no ISP can place a new order.
