Thanks a lot for reaching out, and for your time on the phone today. I did try to place the renumber order, however it seems that the previous provider have not yet notified BT that their line has been ceased.
I then contacted Openreach and have been advised that a mail has now been sent to the previous provider to confirm that the number is now ceased, and to make the number available to ourselves. We've been asked to review this again tomorrow and will follow up then.
