Newly registered address with a ONT box already installed - please help

Hi,

So I have a bit of a unique situation and would like some advise, my 2 preferred providers are plusnet or talktalk, I dont mind who i end up going with out of those two.

So I've just moved out for the first time to a new flat, the address doesn't exist on records as it used to be a storage room next to flats but the landlord renovated it into an actual flat, someone moved into the flat in August 2023 and had an FTTP connection hooked up with an ONT box (not sure of their provider) now FTTP isnt available to these flats EXCEPT for the flat I'm moving into, an exception was made it seems (though the landlord isnt happy about that haha). I contacted the local council and got the address registered and recieved an email this morning saying its now been registered and a UPRN for the address has been generated so now I just need to wait for the address to update onto systems - but the issue is that when I try and call or use the website for an internet provider it says FTTP isnt available in the area, but my flat has the exception and FTTP installed/ONT box - how can i contact a provider outside of calling or the website to arrange for full fibre 1gb internet to be connected to the FTTP/ONT box?

Sorry for the waffle I just wanted to fully explain the situation - any help would be appreciated. Smiley

@akamewamey

Is it an Openreach ONT (if so their name will be on it) ort is it an ONT supplied and fitted by an Altnet? It might be branded as such.  If the latter that could explain why FTTP is not showing up on the Openreach records for the area if that is where you have been looking, and you need to contact that Altnet provider.
