@Twizzxii

Thanks for the information.

Does you current copper line come direct to your property or does it go to a utility cupboard in the hallway of the flats before being distributed. If the former, you may be a Single Dwelling Unit in OR terms but if the latter then you're a Multi Dwelling Unit which requires a different type of install.

However, when the wider network is installed the engineers usually do a quick check for any potential problems with a house install. If anything of concern is noted it usually gets flagged for a survey before the order is accepted.

The picture is from the chamber that serves my house. You can see where they rodded the u/g ducts and proven them clear, leaving a blue pull rope in place for the fibre cable to be pulled through. Of the five ducts checked one had a slight blockage but they were able to push through from the other end.

Fibre glass rods are usually used to pull through cable though you do get reels for longer distances.

Edit : It's a shame the resident wizard, @Gandalf , no longer deals with things like this. It would be right up his street.

Hey @bmc

I believe it runs into a comms box downstairs which then splits the distribution.

I was told a survey would be carried out on January 2nd and I've never heard anything from them. I've been told two weeks ago Friday that a chief engineer would come and do a survey, but I've not seen anything again.

I don't believe there was any investigation into the blockage. The second engineer kind of tried and then stopped. That was at least more than what the first engineer attempted to do. Unfortunately I can't be more specific as I don't have the technical know how.

Based on your comments though I'm tempted to maybe try getting an engineer to come back and try and feed the cable through the ducting again but maybe they come more prepared? Perhaps there's a more efficient way of trying to feed the cable through rather than using the spool alone? I could be wrong though.

I'll try and get some pictures tomorrow to give a clearer picture of my overall situation, not just for you, but so maybe people can offer some solutions based on the visuals. I'm genuinely hoping that the ducting that's there could be used and I've just had incompetent engineers. Because at this point that'd be a much faster solution than for waiting for permission forms to create new ducting which haven't been sent in weeks.

I do believe I found it @Townman thank you.

@Twizzxii

If it's an MDU then the OR database is in error which may well be causing some problems.Next time you speak to them ask PN to ask OR to check their database, telling them your property is listed as an SDU whereas it's probably an MDU.

Use the Address Checker to lookup the other 3 flats to see what they are listed as.

Re: Oh God help me. No end in sight for my order. Any Ideas?

Hi @Twizzxii thanks for getting in touch, I am sorry to hear that your Full Fibre order is severely delayed.

Having looked into the account, I can see that the delays are due to permission to work not being received on time, unfortunately I cannot say for sure where the proble arise as these documents are sent directly by the Permission To Work team within Openreach.

Furthermore, this is with our escalation team within provisioning, they are working alongside the escalation team in Openreach to get this matter addressed as soon as possible and alternative arrangements of getting you some form of broadband have also been put in to place.

You can always check the full correspondence on your account on the open question following this link:

Re: Oh God help me. No end in sight for my order. Any Ideas?

Hi @Tina11192,

As mentioned neither I or my landlord have received said forms. I keep being asked to send forms back that I haven’t received so I’m stuck in an impossible loop.

If someone could just confirm where and when these forms were sent so I could at least verify they’ve been sent that’d be amazing.

I’ve given the correct email addresses and even provided my own contact number to help speed this along, but still nothing.

What else can I do?

Thanks
