Ordering Broadband Before Move

I'm due to move into my new house on 20.07.23.

I'm in the process of ordering broadband from Plusnet, with the engineer set to arrive on 21.07, however, I've come to the following terms:

Please tick the box to give consent to Plusnet to take over the existing service at the address you have provided.

Please tick the box to give consent to Plusnet to cease the phone line at the address you provided.

I'm concerned that if I go ahead with the order now, I'll end up cutting off the current occupant's internet before I move in - as they're still living there until 20.07.

Can anyone confirm whether this would be the case?

Afternoon @arcfell

If you were to sign up their service shouldn't get cut off until the 21st

Re: Ordering Broadband Before Move

Out of interest, at what point did you see a commitment for the engineer to do the works on the 21st?

My daughter just tried to place an order but I think we got to that page without being able to pick an activation date, so we bailed.

If you select a fibre package:

You'll either end up on this page if they don't need to send an engineer to set up the fibre: (No engineer date needed)

Alternatively, you'll see the following pages if you need an engineer to install fibre & can book it on step 3 after you've entered your details (Bottom of the last screenshot):

Re: Ordering Broadband Before Move

Ahh ok, thanks Arcfell,

Looking back, I think the order process we saw is a bit different.

It doesn't really mention anything about engineers it seems to assume it's a switch that'll just happen in a few days...
