Re: Access point not working

@jrd01

Which Plusnet hub do you have and why do you want to use a BT Smarthub? If you don't have a Plusnet Hub 2 then ring in and see if they wilkl give you one for the P&P charge.

I am still suspicious that you might have a problem with your long cable, such as a pin contact over crimped and not making a connection with the mating contact in the hub. If it is a problem with the hub then it's obviously a fault that's affecting all the LAN outputs. As the LAN works on a short cable and not on 15m I am very sceptical.

In the non working state can you still connect directly to the TL-WA850RE using either a web browser or the TP-Link Tether application this will be via WiFi?

Have you set it to have a static IP Address or using DHCP from the Hub? What is it's IP Address?

If it is not a static IP address then I would suggest setting it to have one,

say 192.168.1.10 mask 255.255.255.0 gateway 192.168.1.254 dns 192.168.1.254 (this assumes you are still using the default IP Address range as used by the BT or plusnet supplied hub DHCP.

This should allow you to always be able to connect to it if the connection is broken between it and the hub/router and use its status page to view it's network map.
