Good evening
Yesterday we were upgraded from FTTC to FTTP and were previously connecting to Plusnet with a Cisco ASA 5505 via an openreach modem.
I have tried and failed to connect the ASA directly to the FTTP ont and was wondering if there are any changes I need to make to the login credentials, or anything else? The HUB2 connects just fine.
TIA

If your Cisco previously worked with Openreach VDSL2 modem, there shouldn't be any need to make any changes for it to work with Openreach ONT in theory.
Only thoughts are whether there is a hardware compatibility, or software bug in the Cisco?
Does the Cisco produce any troubleshooting logs?
fwiw, there is another thread in this forum, where someone was unable to get PPPoE connection on their Palo Alto firewall device to work with their Openreach ONT.
You may wish to ask the question on the Cisco Community user forum if no one here can offer a solution?

Details here https://community.cisco.com/t5/networking-knowledge-base/troubleshooting-for-pppoe-connection-failur... on troubleshooting and debug logs for Cisco.
@G-Berks some debug logs might be useful to establish if its a similar problem to the other thread

So what it turned out to be that ASDM only allows for two stored PPPOE usernames and passwords, with the two being from my previous ISP's. So with the following command I was able to clear these and enter the new credentials.
# no vpdn username 'previous ISP username' password 'previous ISP password' [store-local]
then entering
# vpdn username 'username@plusdsl.net' password 'plusnet member centre password' [store-local]
# write mem

but I thought you already had it working with Plusnet FTTC , so the credentials were already there weren't they ?

So did I, but the ones that were saved were BT's.
Wouldn't have thought so, but as it's always been connected to a UPS, then maybe I didn't save the running config to the startup config two years ago when I switched from BT to Plusnet. Though I guess it would be more likely a bug in the ASA.
