Connection Load Balancing

Hi,

I have a Draytek 2927 which I'm trying to config to load balancing connections.
One connection using PPPoE but the Plusnet (ADSL Exchange Only) requires PPPoA which I don't believe the router supports.

Anyone know of a way of using the Plusnet Hub 1 as a dumb modem so I can leverage PPPoA but use through the Draytek (to balance connections).

Rational for openreach/plusnet line is as a backup (as it's speeds as rubbish) however the other connection is highly unreliable a rain shower kills the connection. I try to have a setup to use both connections or at least the Plusnet one as a seamless fallback

Hi @jchurchley01  Im afraid the Hub 1 cant be configured for modem only mode.  You could either try to pick up a used HG612 adsl/vdsl modem or (if you don't mind the awful looks) a TP Link w9970 https://www.tp-link.com/uk/service-provider/dsl-router/td-w9970/ has a good modem. I've used one in the past in modem only mode on both ADSL & VDSL. In fact if you're anywhere near M1 J25 I have one you can have if you're willing to collect.

Re: Connection Load Balancing

Thanks for the reply. I ended up selling the Draytek 2927Lac and buying the Draytek 2866Lac instead all should be sorted. Didn't want two devices kicking around.
