Danger of blue light on router

There have been many comments on the blue light being too bright. However, much more important is the fact that it is harmful to one's health. This is especially true coming up to bedtime when it will disrupt the body's ability to produce melatonin, the sleep hormone.

Re: Danger of blue light on router

Our newer hub (offered with Fibre/Full Fibre products) comes with the ability to either dim, switch off or schedule the LED to switch off at a desired time.

Unfortunately this isn't the case with the Hub One that I believe you currently have. A dirty solution would be to cover it with some electrical tape or similar.

Re: Danger of blue light on router

Hub one does have a dim option, though it's still quite bright in the dark of night.

Ours is near our front door and I find it's a useful "night light".

Before bedtime, with other lights on, it's relatively dim so I can't think it has any real "blue light" effect.

What is the purpose of what looks like a flap under the blue light?

Re: Danger of blue light on router

@Rhino - there are LED's behind it that illuminate in certain notification/error conditions e.g. if Wi-Fi is disabled or there's no broadband signal being detected.
