Deco X55 setup with Plus net FTTP

Hi. Just had my FTTP installed. Works OK with Plus net router. Now trying to use Deco X55 mesh instead. Going through decon setup on my mobile and Deco can't connect to Internet & goes red. Yes, it's ethernet connected to the new box on the wall. Username & password were optional. Any suggestions on settings? I've disconnected the plusnet router.

@seasider_pow

?

You configure the Deco X55 WAN to be PPPoE using your broadband user name and password, connect the Deco  WAN port directly to the ONT

Thanks. Each Deco has 3 ethernet ports - can I use any of them as all look the same? Then use other 2 to connect devices?

Re: Deco X55 setup with Plus net FTTP

I would just connect one/the master Deco to the ONT and the try that.
It maybe possibly to configure them using a Web Browser on a pc of some sort.
Sorry I can't help anymore today as I'm about to go out

after assigning it a new network name and password

@seasider_pow that's not what you need to set. You need to set the internet connection type to PPPoE and for username it's your Plusnet account name followed by @plusdsl.net password is the one you use to login to the member centre

@seasider_pow

Having watched this video - YouTube : Deco X55 Setup Video

it seems relatively straight forward, if you assume that where it mentions 'modem' that instead you use the 'ONT'.

Then the only change would be at timestamp 1:56 where it has the "Connection Type", which you need to change from "Dynamic IP" to "PPPoE", then presumably it will prompt for your Plusnet account Username and Password,

where the Plusnet Username is probably in the format - 'Your_Plusnet_account_name@plusdsl.net'

- so presumably something like -  seasider@plusdsl.net

The video (in my previous post)  appears to indicate that you can use any of them as the device to connect to the ONT.
