Have tried everything but disabling 5Ghz has worked-do I need this? Will it impact on my speed please?
@VYEATS if all your devices are only 2.4ghz compatible , then No. However 2.4ghz is limited to around 100Mb real world speed, so if you've got devices capable of using the 5ghz band then they will suffer the reduced speed.

Welcome to the forums, @VYEATS . What you have said above sounds very strange. If your connection was dropping out 'every 5 minutes' that suggests a network issue, Saying the password was wrong suggests your username/password combination was still set to <setup@plusdsl.net>, rather than <youraccountname@plusdsl.net>, and disabling 5Ghz is a slight red herring - that will have no bearing at all.

My reading is that the network is up and fine as it works when devices are connected via the 2.4GHz band. The problem is therefore the rejection of the 5GHz SSID password, presumably an incorrect flag being raised by the synchronised 2.4 and 5GHz bands.

What message do you get on the PC? I suspect the Firestick uses 2.4Ghz only. Did these items connect whilst the 5Ghz was turned off?

In that case, and providing you are on FTTC and not Full Fibre (FTTP), my suggestion is to turn the 5Ghz off.
