Full Fibre 500

Have had full fibre for a few weeks now, good speed around 450mb but only on wifi, when ethernet plugged in, it's limited to sub 90mb, it is a gigabit network and the ethernet connection confirms this.  Does anyone know why the internet speed is limited on an ethernet connection? thanks

Hey @MisterMM, What is the category type of the Ethernet cable you're using as this may be a bottleneck

Re: Full Fibre 500

@MisterMM, Hmmm.... ok

I assume you have tried the other Ethernet ports on the router can you confirm? I do not want to make any assumptions.

Have you checked the hardware specs on that device, or have you tried using another device? If I remember correctly, although I haven't looked into it for a while, you can check the sync speed to that device in the devices section of the Hub Manager. Unfortunately, I am not using the Hub Two router, so I cannot check it myself.

Re: Full Fibre 500

when connected directly with the router speed is fine, ie cable from laptop to router port

its only when connected via the switch - switch is gigabit switch, network is running at 1000mbs

this applies to both a laptop and a pc so tried 2 different devices, same results on both, limited to 90mb with cable, 400+ with wifi

can't seem to find sync speed on hub two router, can you explain where it is? many thanks for your time

Re: Full Fibre 500

Hey @MisterMM,

Sorry, I am not in the office, so I don't have the direct guides on where it is, but I have looked through some other threads, and I have found where @MisterW mentions it should be in the router's logs

@MisterMM that definitely sounds like a problem with the cable connecting the switch to the Hub2.

Try disconnecting and reconnecting the switch and then checking the Hub2 log to see what speed is being negotiated

If you navigate from the home page to Advanced Settings >Technical Log >Event Log, hopefully you will see this line

Wire Lan Port N up, Speed 1000 Mbps where N is 1,2 or 3

This message appears when the device connects to the LAN.
