@ZebraSpider @HazBo @dartilov @SJMC1 @licsi3186 @bennykkf @ham @mort7890 @leesytommy & @Cm79 - I have just pushed the latest update to your devices. You'll need to restart your hubs to apply it.

Hope it helps.

Re: Hub One - 5GHz WiFi issue

@sw66 @Amoxitine @rw1 @welcom2internet @floppydisk & @dragnuts - you too. Power your respective hubs off/back on again and you should find they are now running a later firmware.

@viffergb - If your HH5A updates, then I suspect it will be subject to a similar issue. There's also the fact that it is currently running very old firmware. Wouldn't surprise me if it's lost contact with BT's management platform entirely. I have 'tagged' your Plusnet hub for upgrade, so if you re-instate it, you should find it updates itself over the next few days.

@Bcfarm - the serial number you have provided seems to be missing a digit. It might be an idea to drop me a private message containing the full serial number of your device and your account username as I'm struggling to locate your details.

Unfortunately I am still getting drop outs daily.  The causes on the W10 trouble shooter continue to show as "Wifi does not have a valid IP configuration" and mainly "Defaut Gateway not available".  One such incident occurred at 13.01 and shows on the Event log, as previous events have also similarly shown.

13:02:00, 21 Oct. BLOCKED 2 more packets (because of ICMP replay)
13:01:58, 21 Oct. OUT: BLOCK [7] ICMP replay (ICMP type 3 code 1 31.125.32.178->5.62.42.108 on ppp3)
13:01:57, 21 Oct. BLOCKED 4 more packets (because of ICMP replay)
13:01:55, 21 Oct. OUT: BLOCK [7] ICMP replay (ICMP type 3 code 1 31.125.32.178->34.251.27.48 on ppp3)

13:01:21, 21 Oct. OUT: BLOCK [7] ICMP replay (ICMP type 3 code 1 31.125.32.178->212.58.237.254 on ppp3)

I fail to see how these events can be related to be honest.

They show outbound packets being blocked that were destined for an Avast, Amazon AWS and BBC server respectively. There is also an inbound HTTPS attempt from what looks like a Digital Ocean VPS, probably a port scan or similar.

None of those things should affect your Wi-Fi connectivity, even if they were blocked in their entirety.

When the problem occurs, it might be worth while sharing what the IP configuration of your Windows machine is. This can be done by typing 'ipconfig /all' (minus quotes) into a command window. The results should contain details of the assigned IP address, gateway address, DNS addresses etc. of your Wi-Fi adapter. No guarantees, but it might contain some clues.

Re: Hub One - 5GHz WiFi issue

@bobpullen

You kindly pushed the latest update last December.  I have been experiencing the same problems again (connection issues and having to re-enter the password - more than once and it not being accepted).

The version is 4.7.5.1.83.8.273 dated 30/12/20

Could you please push the latest update to my router.  Thank you.

Re: Hub One - 5GHz WiFi issue

Hi .@bobpullen ,

I am getting this problem with the 5GHz wifi on our Plusnet Hub One router. We have 2 Lenovo laptops (and occasionally one tablet) using 5GHz. Those devices get disconnected from the wifi but all the 2.4GHz devices keep going. We have been restarting the router to fix the issue. It started off being very occasional but it is now happening several times a day.

I see people have been requesting a software upgrade on this forum topic. Can I have an upgrade? The current details of the router are:

Product name: Plusnet Hub One
Serial number: +081441+NQ74601082
Software level: 4.7.5.1.83.8.263 Last updated 26/03/19

Thanks

Re: Hub One - 5GHz WiFi issue

Thanks @bobpullen for pushing the firmware update yesterday, so far so good with all my 5GHz capable devices that are now able to connect to the router and none have yet to drop out so fingers crossed they remain that way Smiley

Cheers

Re: Hub One - 5GHz WiFi issue

Not sure why some people have posed broadband usernames and serial numbers, probably best not to publicly announce these things.

Re: Hub One - 5GHz WiFi issue

For those thinking that this problem is just with this plusnet router,it's not.I swapped over to a brand new BT Smart Hub a couple of weeks ago and it's been faultless until today.

My 5ghz channel went down on my Smart Hub this morning,a quick rescan of the smart channel and it's back up.
