Hub Two - no 5GHz WiFi

Hi

I just recently got my Hub Two. The configuration is pretty straightforward. The only thing I didn't manage to get working is 5GHz WiFi. I see it turned on in the manager but my devices do not see it available.

I know my devices see 5GHz networks in general since they see a Plusnet 5GHz network from my neighbor all the time.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Re: Hub Two - no 5GHz WiFi

the Hub2 has a combined SSID, with no separate 5Ghz band.

Re: Hub Two - no 5GHz WiFi

How are you determining that your devices don't see it available? The Wi-Fi network name for the 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks is common.

What devices are we talking about?

Re: Hub Two - no 5GHz WiFi

Oh I see. So the question is how to choose between 2.4GHz and 5GHz WiFi in this case? I'm trying to connect using Windows 11.

Or "no separate 5Ghz band" means I can have 2.4 or 5Ghz but no both at the same time?

Fix

So the question is how to choose between 2.4GHz and 5GHz WiFi in this case?

You don't choose, the router and the connecting device use 'Band steering' to decide the best connection

@western82

You can leave the connected device to choose for itself. If it's a dual band device it should automatically use the best.

Unfortunately, unlike the older Hub 1, you can't split the bands on a Hub 2.
