Hub2 in Bride Mode with a Unifi Dreammachine?

Hi,
I have a Unifi Dreammachine with Unifi UAP-M-PRO mesh access points around my home. I am an new Plusnet user and have the Hub 2 router on ADSL.
The dream machine only supports PPPOE and so I want to use the Hub 2 as a PPPOA modem and the Dreammachine as the main configurable router on my network.
I put the Hub2 into bridge mode, confirmed I have a pink light on the front, connected a RJ45 cable to port 1 on the Hub2 and the other end into the WAN port on the Dreammachine. I assume if the Hub2 is a modem it won't need any further configuration, and on checking I can see that it claims to be connected to the internet from it's config page (192.168.1.254), but the dreammachine nor any of the connected network devices can access the internet? Subnet is the same and DHCP for the router and all connected devices is 192.168.1.x
I assumed it would be straight forward but apparently not?!?!?
Any advice and help really appreciated.
Thanks

@KitMatt have you configured the Unifi PPPoE settings with your Plusnet username & password ?
Username is <youraccountname>@plusdsl.net and password is the one you use to login to the member centre https://www.plus.net/member-centre/login
I am an new Plusnet user and have the Hub 2 router on ADSL.
Another thought , what firmware version is the Hub 2 ? ISTR there was an issue with Encapsulation in ADSL bridge mode corrected in the latest version

Do I need to configure PPPOE on the dreamachine? I assumed as it has no RJ11 port (WAN port on dream machine is PPPOE) and the Hub2 is acting as the modem with PPPOA configured and connected, the connection between any RJ45 port on the Hub2 and the WAN port on the dream machine would simply be a conduit for internet traffic?
That’s how it worked with my previous ISP and their modem…. 🤷🏻♂️
Firmware version is v0.10.00.04201-PN - updated 20/11/2023.

The Hub needs to be in Bridge mode, from the Home Page >Advanced settings >Broadband >Bridging [Enabled - Yes]
After you reboot the Hubs light will go a pink/purple colour, all router functions and wireless are turned off
LAN 1,2 or 3 connects to the dream machine WAN port, the only device you should have plugged in the Hub now is the Dream Machine
On the Dream Machine set the internet (WAN) connection to PPPoE using <youraccountname>@plusdsl.net and password is the one you use to login to the member centre
HTH

@KitMatt yes , you need to configure the Dreammachine WAN connection as PPPoE with your PN credentials.
To explain, in its normal router mode , the Hub 2 does use PPPoA, but when in Bridge mode the Hub 2 is just a modem, it doesnt make the PPP connection. In technical terms its not running PPPoA its EoA (Ethernet over ATM), it just converts ATM to Ethernet, so any router connected via it needs to make a PPPoE connection.
That’s how it worked with my previous ISP and their modem….
Some ISPs use PPPoE to make a connection, which requires a username/password, others use DHCP which requires no other configuration. I suspect that (like most routers) the Dreammachine defaults to DHCP which may explain why it just worked with your previous ISP.

That's the latest, which is good news in the you shouldnt have the incorrect Encapsulation setting.
