Looking to swap Plusnet Hub 2 with ZYXEL VMG8623-50B, what settings to change

Background;

Hub 2 WiFi connection keeps cutting out, (fibre 500MB) switching hub 2 on/off fixes connection for few hours. changing channels does not help either.

1st time it happened, plusnet replaced router and it fixed problem for a year, now I have replaced 3 routers but issue still problem persists, more with some routers then others.

Have a spare Zyxel router but not sure a) its compatible and b) which settings to change to make it work. Anyone out there familiar with this router and its settings? Would be grateful if someone can guide me before I pull all my hair out!

Frankly you need to understand the cause of your issues. Is this a WiFi or a xDSL issue?

There’s no assurance that changing the router will fix either. The ZYXEL could be brought into service simply by configuring the Plusnet DSL account details. There is though no assurance that will fix an unprofiled issue.

Re: Looking to swap Plusnet Hub 2 with ZYXEL VMG8623-50B, what settings to change

My tech knowledge is basic. I noticed the following; changing channel number can sometimes fix the connection issue for few hours, switching router on/off can also fix it but only for few hours. Replacing router with plusnet also fixes wifi issue for a few days or more.

I have tried replacing router with ZYxel but it has so many parameters that may need configuring that I left it to one side. Zyxel manual runs to 500+ pages, can't seem to find a section dealing with router replacement for my scenario, Zyxel Seems to be jack of all trades.
