I've joined Plusnet last week after 15 years with VM. I have 500MB full fibre and the Open Reach ONT point is in the front lounge on the main wall by the front of the house. Router situated here connected to the ONT and on a cabinet around 5ft high,
Here I get around 450mb speeds.
In the upstairs bedroom, just above the router, we get a WIFI signal of around 100mb.
In my office (where I need the fastest speeds for work), I only get around 1.5mb speeds. With a TP LINK 1300mbps power line adapter plugged in I get roughly 45 - 50 mb speeds both using Ethernet and WIFI.
This is nowhere good enough unfortunately, I'd expect a minimum of 350mb in my office on a poor day and the full speed in the bedroom above the lounge.
I use CAT 7 cables to connect the router to the power line adapter. From the lounge to the office is a brick wall, kitchen, dining room (open plan with kitchen, then the office on the right. It's sort of a large L shape with the brick wall in the lounge, kitchen dining open plan large space which turns a corner and through a door / brick wall to the office.
How can I get the full speed I am paying for (without forking out money). When I was with VM I was in a house with old wiring, and 350mb connection, and using the same power line adapters, through 3 floors and still getting over 250mb speeds on a good day.
VM are not available in my current area, which is why I went with Plusnet.
What's the solution here?

The performance of the powerline adapters have nothing to do with the ISP being used. I suspect that in your new house , you have a more modern electrical system with RCD protection. Often this either involves a 'split load' Consumer unit with circuits split across two or more RCD's or possibly each circuit with its own RCBO. In this situation powerline performance can be seriously degraded where the sockets used are not on the same RCD.
TBH there is really no substitute for physical ethernet cables for achieving higher speeds.

I can't connect an ethernet cable from the router in my lounge, through the hallway, kitchen, dining room and into my office.
Both ethernet and Wifi drop off hugely outside the room the router is in.
My question is how can I get my full speed in my office mainly as well as around the house.. as Plusnet aren't providing that clearly.
I always use ethernet cables for devices that have an ethernet port.. but the speed is still awful.

as Plusnet aren't providing that clearly.
Plusnet's speed guarantee (like other ISPs) is specified for an ethernet connection direct to the router.
As I explained earlier, the performance of powerline adaptors is extremely variable in modern domestic electrical systems. It doesnt matter what cable you use to connect to/from the powerlines, the limiting factor is the speed the powerlines can communicate across the mains circuits.
I have a pair of TPlink 1300av powerlines which I use occasionally, On a good day I can get 300-400Mb when they are connected to sockets on the same ring circuit, but if I connect one upstairs and one downstairs ( which are on separate RCDs ) then the speed drops to around 50Mb.
Is there any possiblity of routing an ethernet cable externally to the office ? you would need external grade cable

Can someone from Plusnet weigh in with some actual solutions?
I'm not so interested in why I'm not getting the speeds I'm paying for but rather I'm interested in finding a solution as to how I can.
I dont want to have to be one one room in the house and connected via ethernet to get the 500mb I'm paying for. And I don't want to be stuck with 1.5mb speeds 3 rooms away.
I want the 500mb speed throughout my house, irrespective of whether my devices are connected via ethernet or to the WiFi.
Can someone from Plusnet please reply with some solutions?
Cheers Much

Don't let my username confuse you, I'm not from Plusnet, but ...

I suspect that isn't going to happen.
As stated in your OP, you are getting the speed you're paying for!
What's the solution here?
You could try listening to people who actually know what they're talking about.

They are just full of people like you who like to snipe and be keyboard warriors and take digs at people for no reason and no sound basis
You don't know the slightest thing about me or what's going on in my life or why I might have responded the way I do. I came here asking one simple question. How can I get the speed I'm paying for throughout my house. There is a solution to this. But so far no one has bothered to come close to trying to suggest one. No one has suggested setting up a mesh network, extenders, or getting a better router, or even going and getting a router, switch and wan albeit these things would cost money.
I've not explored these options and was hoping someone might actually make some half decent suggestions to go about getting full coverage.
If I'm paying Plusnet and I'm only getting the speed I pay for in the one room where the router is but the rest of the house doesn't break 1.5mb without powerline adapters.. Thats terrible and not acceptable and doesn't equate to 'you're getting the speeds'. No..no I'm not.
I ask for solutions..
But I get told my powerline adapters are not the solution but no suggestion as to what might be.. And some other tool comes here to tell me it's just not possible. Well OK then
Yet again.. Another toxic community (or maybe it's just you who is toxic) who want to jump down the throat of someone just looking for help.
Don't bother responding. I'm done with this forum so I won't be back and won't read your reply so you'll be wasting your time. Take your negativity out on someone else, I've no time for this nonsense.
@mods delete this post or ban me I really don't care. Your community is trash and certainly not anywhere near useful.
I'll raise this complaint internally so as to avoid the toxic keyboard warriors

Now you're contradicting yourself; you already dismissed those things out of hand with your earlier statement of "without forking out money". You seem to want to have your cake and eat it.
@MisterW asked whether running an external Ethernet cable was possible, but you were off-hand with him, so given those factors is it any wonder nobody else has chipped in with suggestions?
Goodbye.

I have a solution for you so please feel free to private message me, I've taken ownership of resolving this with you too and tried calling just now and left you a voicemail. I'll try phoning again next Tuesday when I'm back on shift so please let me know if there's a good time between 8am and 4.30pm to have a chat and get this sorted out.
I've popped an update on your account in the meantime: https://www.plus.net/wizard/?p=view_question&id=234115412
