Not necessary - there is a simple answer, which doesn't apply to this 'problem', anyway.

@rhjones19 A simple, cheap, and guaranteed way to solve this problem is to connect the desktop to the hub via an Ethernet cable, as previously suggested.

While you are waiting for your ethernet cable to arrive ... ...
try switching OFF the 5GHz WiFi in the Plusnet Hub Two, and see if your PC connection works any better ?
Watch this video - YouTube : Changing your Hub Two wireless settings
then at time = 1:20 you should see the web page shown below,
then toggle the 5GHz wireless to OFF, then hit the [Save] button.

@outcast Which will not necessarily help, and may upset any devices which can support 5Ghz.

My daughter's laptop had exactly the same symptoms as being reported here.
The laptop had 2.4GHz ONLY WiFi, BUT connectivity failed if there was a 5GHz wireless access point using the same SSID.
The solution was ensure that any SSID didn't exist on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz at the same time.
We also added a USB 5GHz WiFi dongle, so the laptop could use either band, and benefit from the faster 5GHz bandwidth.

take a look at the USB dongle properties, it may be possible to turn off either 2.4 or 5GHz, I'd suggest turning off 5GHz as 2.4GHz signals have better range.
EDIT: which Hub are you using?
I did suggest this earlier
Most wireless adapters support both 2.4 and 5 GHz so there is no harm turning off 5GHz they will revert to 2.4Ghz

@Dan_the_Van Thanks. I agree most recent wireless dongles should support both frequencies - it is that long ago since I used one (for a short time) that it was before the days of the 5Ghz frequency, so I kind of 'forgot' - sorry.
I still think the Ethernet connection is the best idea though, if it is practicable, for the desktop.
@rhjones19 - how old is your dongle?

I would say the USB dongle make and model is more relevant than it's age.
As previously suggested might I suggest turning off 5GHz wifi to see if that helps
EDIT turning 5GHz wifi off on the Hub
