with a Plus Net supplied Hub the management system will assign your username to the Hub when it connects, so there is no user action required.
When you use a 3rd party device then you have to configure it yourself.
I suggest you plug your Plus Net Hub back in and see if you get the same results.
It is high unlikely the TP-Link device is causing this issue.

@Star-Light100 How long have you been a Plusnet customer? I still suspect you have a static IP - what are the first 3 octets?

OK. That 192 sounds like the start of your routers address to me - AIUI that is part of a reserved range for routers/hubs &c.
Which Plusnet hub have you got?

OK, in that case, can you send me a screen-shot of the Help Desk page with nothing obscured via PM, please.

the help desk page does not show the broadband IP address, you need advanced settings >broadband >internet
@Star-Light100 you can find your broadband IP address here https://whatismyipaddress.com/

Sorry Dan - never having had the Hub1, I forget that it doesn't - I'll try and remember. 😉

you can also check in the members centre to see if you have a static IP Address.
From the Members Centre Home from the right of Home select Add-Ons, scroll down and set what is under Static IP
There should be a choice Add this bolt-on or Remove remove this bolt-on. I would expect to see Remove this bolt-on
This issue needs looking at by Help Desk staff as there is nothing else can be done here.

You have to reboot the Hub One or TP-Link for the change to take.

There does seem to be a degree of confusion herein. In summary...
- A Plusnet supplied router will generally self configure the user account details
- For a third party router the user has to explicitly enter the user account details
- Therefore either router contains the same details username@plusdsl.net
- Irrespective of whatever router a user uses, the IP addressed assigned will be the same for that connection
- A static IP address if the account has one
- A dynamic one if the account does not have a static IP address
- GRC Shields up performs a rDNS lookup on the current IP address - the default rDNS entry for a Plusnet IP address is username.plus.com
This has nothing to do with which router you use or any suspicion about the security of the router - this information is NOT coming from the router.
In another browser tab, login into the Plusnet user portal BEFORE clicking the fault & ticket links
Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.
