Router Advise

Afternoon all,

I'm looking for advice on the best Router to get for my requirements, currently on a Hub One which is not suitable.

I need to be able to create  4 VLANS that will have their respective DHCP scopes, I'm not to interested in WIFI connectivity because I have a numb of Ubiquiti AP's on the network, I also have Cisco Switches upstream.  It needs to have a firewall too.

Thank you.

Chet

@chet_45 this https://community.tp-link.com/en/business/forum/topic/558422 seems to indicate that the er605 can do what you want, although the manual doesn't show that functionality. Sure enough looking at the gui on mine it does seem to be able to do it, although I've not tried it myself. You will need a separate vdsl modem though, if you are on FTTC

Re: Router Advise

Thanks for the response I'm looking for a VDSL Router that will do all the functions for me, I've tried to stick a Cisco RV320 on the network to see if I could get that to work, I get passed a IP from the scope but that's as far as I get.

Thanks

Re: Router Advise

The Rv320 is not something I'm familiar with but from looking at the spec, that will also need a VDSL modem in front of it.

You then set its WAN to PPPoE with your plusnet username (suffixed with @plusdsl.net) and password. The RV320 WAN should then get assigned the public IP

You probably need to be looking at the Draytek 286x models then...
