Router Event Log flooded with multicast events

I have recently noticed that my router event log is flooded with multicast events as below,

12:48:45, 31 Dec.Multicast stream started by client 192.168.1.229

12:48:45, 31 Dec.Multicast event client join group:224.0.1.60 client:192.168.1.229

12:48:45, 31 Dec.Multicast stream request. client:192.168.1.229 group:224.0.1.60

12:46:44, 31 Dec.Multicast stream started by client 192.168.1.229

12:46:44, 31 Dec.Multicast event client join group:224.0.1.60 client:192.168.1.229

12:46:44, 31 Dec.Multicast stream request. client:192.168.1.229 group:224.0.1.60

These events completely dominate the log for hours on end, repeating every few minutes

192.168.1.229 is the IP address for my HP wifi printer on my home network, so clearly the printer is the cause.

Everything works OK and the events don't relate to any printing activity, in fact I hardly ever use the printer.

The printer is enrolled on HPs Instant Ink program, but I don't see that being the cause.

Router is Smarthub 6 (HH6)

I have googled everywhere and scoured this forum to see if anyone else has the same issue without any success.

Can anyone help please?

Re: Router Event Log flooded with multicast events

Is it causing any problems?

The simplest solution is to stop looking at the router log, or switch the printer off!
