Re: Still on old school Broadband-only contract. New router?

Just to wrap this one up, my intermittent bursts of faults/resyncs continued for some time.

They did get some attention from PN and BT, the techs I spoke to at PN seemed quite puzzled by them in fact, there was no correlation with anything I or they could identify.

After various activities, of which I don't have the details, I now seem to be stable and at pretty much the same speed (around 20mbps) as before. The router has been connected now for well over a week without interruption.

Thanks to all who helped.

Cheers for the summary, I'm glad to see your broadband's a lot more stable now.

May it live long and prosper, but if you have further issues, feel free to let us know. Smiley

From 31st October 2022, I no longer have a regular presence here as I’ve moved on to a new role.

@HPsauce

As a matter of interest, what do you need from a phone service that's "a bit unusual"?

The current copper phone service isn't going to last very much longer and I'm developing an interest in what to do with my landline (I want to retain the number).

From my investigations to date, a specialist ISP seems the best bet to port the landline to and then going SIP.

I assume your needs wouldn't be met by this kind of approach.

I am the satisfied customer....

After today’s announcement copper will be around for a fair bit longer now, I suspect .

Re: Still on old school Broadband-only contract. New router?

PlusNet know what I use that they can't supply and my needs may not last much longer at which time I'll review my contracts.

Technology moves on but equally companies need to be compassionate to their customers who for whatever reason find it difficult to move with them. Not that that is me in this case.
